In ancient Greek mythology there is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for plastic artists. It has all the elements to catch the attention and the added value of its great antiquity. I've been rereading Robert Graves's book about myths for years, and I'm reviewing the work of Praxiteles and the sculptures of the time, as well as the Egyptian sculptures.
All this classic world has captured my interest throughout my life, for a simple reason. From what I have known throughout my life in relation to the arts and literature, almost everything is recurrent and has its origin in ancient Greece.
Mythology is the sacred history of a world that disappeared a lot before Christianity appeared and it contains elements traced from ancient Egypt and Grace.
The human imagination is very curious and observing ancient history, one can come to the conclusion that absolutely all these legends, myths and religions have as their goal, to make the masses obedient and ignorant, to maintain a very superior status in all those who They disseminate these stories as true, defended by armies and laws that frighten those who think for themselves.
Since the beginning of time these techniques have given very good results to the ruling classes. So much so, that today they continue to work. It seems ridiculous, but it is not. You just have to observe how our world works to see it clearly. Religions, nationalisms and cultures are added to enhance human stupidity, misogyny and fear.
At least, that's how I perceive it and that's how I express it in my images.
